In a major step toward sustainable mining and energy transition, the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) to provide solar project management consultancy (PMC) services.
The partnership aims to support NCL’s journey toward becoming a net-zero company through the development of large-scale solar power projects. Leveraging its technical expertise, CMPDI will oversee all phases of solar project implementation — from planning and execution to monitoring and performance evaluation — helping NCL meet its renewable energy goals and reduce carbon emissions.
This collaboration aligns with the Coal India ecosystem’s broader sustainability strategy, focused on environmental stewardship and reducing dependence on conventional energy sources across mining operations.
