Tata Power successfully secured the bid for the acquisition of Bikaner-III Neemrana-II Transmission, a transmission project special purpose vehicle (SPV) established by PFC Consulting. Following its triumph in the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process, the firm was awarded the letter of intent.
Valued at Rs1,544 crore, the transmission project is projected to be operational within 24 months from the date of the transfer of the project SPV. Adopting a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) model, Tata Power will oversee the development and maintenance of the project for 35 years. The primary objective is to facilitate the evacuation of 7.7 GW of renewable energy (RE) from the Bikaner complex in Rajasthan through the construction of a 340 km transmission corridor from Bikaner-III pooling station to Neemrana II substation.
This successful venture is poised to significantly enhance the renewable energy evacuation infrastructure in the country. Upon successful commissioning, the project will play a pivotal role in realizing the Ministry of Power's 2022 roadmap, aiming to integrate over 500 GW of RE capacity into the national grid by 2030.
Aligned with its commitment to clean energy initiatives, Tata Power is actively engaged in providing a range of sustainable solutions, including rooftop solar, microgrids, storage solutions, and EV charging infrastructure, as part of its broader clean energy focus.
