The Delhi government has finalised a proposal to develop three new industrial areas in Kanjhawala, Ranikhera, and Baprola, aimed at accelerating economic growth and promoting non-polluting, high-tech industries.
The plan, to be tabled at an upcoming cabinet meeting, envisions state-of-the-art industrial zones focused on frontier sectors such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and advanced robotics. The project will be implemented under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, offering financial incentives to attract investment and innovation.
Spanning approximately 1,200 acres, the new industrial clusters are projected to generate lakhs of employment opportunities, while being developed as integrated satellite townships—blending industrial, residential, and commercial spaces, inspired by the Cyber City model of Gurgaon.
Key agencies like Delhi Metro and DTC will ensure robust connectivity and transport infrastructure. The Ranikhera (147 acres) and Baprola (137 acres) sites will include specialised hubs, such as an Electronic City with plug-and-play facilities to support rapid setup for new businesses.
The zones will also prioritise eco-friendly infrastructure, sustainable development, and modern urban amenities to create a liveable environment that attracts skilled professionals and high-value industries.
