GELS 2025: Collaboration Drives India's Energy Future.

GELS 2025, India’s first COP-style platform for interstate clean-energy coordination, concluded with the presentation of the draft Puri Declaration and the signing of four strategic MoUs aimed at accelerating the country’s energy transition.

Over two days, the summit convened senior policymakers, industry leaders, global experts, and researchers for panel discussions, technical deep dives, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Key themes included AI-driven grid security, carbon markets, and cleantech innovation, laying the groundwork for a long-term collaborative framework to guide India’s clean, resilient, and innovation-led energy future. The MoUs signed at the summit will support renewable-energy research, pilot projects, and deployment initiatives across Odisha.

The agreements include:

A partnership between Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, GRIDCO, and IIT Bhubaneswar to advance renewable-energy research and pilot-scale innovations.

The creation of a Green Hydrogen Centre of Excellence in Odisha by GRIDCO, ReNew, IIT Bhubaneswar, and Avaada.

A renewable-energy collaboration involving NLC India, NIRL, OREDA, and GEDCOL.

A multi-agency framework for renewable-energy planning and development in Odisha, signed by SECI, OHPC, GEDCOL, and OREDA.
