Rail Vikas Nigam Wins ₹111.38 Crore Southern Railway Project

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a significant project awarded by Southern Railway, valued at ₹111.38 crore. The project involves the provision of moving block signaling automatic detection (MSDAC) systems and the replacement of automatic block signaling sections within the Chennai Division of Southern Railway.

This contract focuses on enhancing railway safety and operational efficiency by installing MSDAC systems alongside the existing Centralized Traffic Control (DCTC) at the stations, serving as dual detection. Additionally, the project includes the replacement of balance AFTCs in the MAS-GDR and MSB-TBM automatic block signaling sections, which are critical for maintaining smooth and safe train operations in these busy corridors.

The project is expected to be executed within a timeline of 18 months, underscoring RVNL's commitment to timely delivery and quality execution. By implementing the MSDAC systems, the Chennai Division will benefit from improved train detection accuracy and reliability, significantly reducing the risk of signaling failures and enhancing overall rail network safety.

This win strengthens RVNL's position as a leading player in railway infrastructure development in India. The company's ability to secure such a crucial project further demonstrates its expertise in executing complex signaling and communication systems for the Indian Railways.

Overall, the successful bid for this Southern Railway project highlights RVNL's ongoing contribution to the modernization of India's railway network, ensuring that the infrastructure keeps pace with the growing demands of the nation's transportation needs.
