HFCL has recently been awarded a substantial contract valued at Rs 179 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the provision of advanced 4G and 5G network equipment and services.

This agreement entails HFCL supplying essential products and services to BSNL, facilitating the fulfillment of critical 4G and 5G network infrastructure needs. The scope of work includes comprehensive tasks such as initial planning, on-site surveys, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operations, and annual maintenance of microwave links. By deploying these cutting-edge solutions, HFCL aims to deliver higher data transfer rates, reduced latency, and improved reliability and performance for BSNL's network.

As part of this endeavor, HFCL will be delivering domestically designed and developed unlicensed band radios (UBRs) operating in the 5 GHz frequency band, offering a capacity of one gigabit per second. This includes Rs 119 crore designated for capital expenditure and Rs 22 crore for annual maintenance services. Emphasizing its commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative, HFCL's innovative 4G and 5G backhauling solution not only caters to domestic requirements but also positions the company to seize opportunities in global markets.

The remaining balance of approximately Rs 38 crore is anticipated to be released upon the completion of the supply phase outlined in the current purchase order.
